It is more important than ever to maintain good posture. Because we spend so much time sitting, slouching, on computers and phones, watching TV, and working at our desks, we need to put in a little more effort to focus on our posture. This is especially crucial if you suffer from chronic pain, as the desire to be comfortable typically takes precedence over good posture. Why?
Because incorrect posture can lead to further difficulties and suffering that are much more difficult to manage — I speak from experience. In this blog post, I evaluate the ActivePosture Women’s Posture Shirt, which might assist make this endeavour a bit simpler.
I was not financially compensated for this post but I did receive the Women’s Posture Shirt Zipper from ActivePosture free of charge so that I could write this review. The opinions expressed in this post are completely my own based on my own experience.
What is posture clothing and how does it work?
Posture clothing is a simple, comfortable, and practical way of helping anyone improve their posture. ActivePosture products activate muscle memory to help you achieve an improved, upright posture.
Your posture has an influence on your physical health and overall well-being, so having aligned posture benefits us during work, training and in everyday life.
What appealed to me about the ActivePosture brand is that their products are inspired by the concept of Kinesio-taping (also known as KT or physio tape) which I regularly use to help manage my neck pain.
This tape stimulates and realigns the muscles, resulting in a better aligned posture and improved blood flow and circulation. Using a product like the Posture Shirt is a simpler and easier alternative than using tape, but each has its own set of benefits based on the individual, their pain, and their needs.
My experiences of using the Women’s Posture Shirt
I’ve been using the Women’s Posture Shirt for about 3 weeks now (a men’s version is also available). I’ve mainly worn it whilst working at my height adjustable desk on my laptop and when going for walk, so a good mix of sitting, standing and moving.
The Posture Shirt is designed to improve posture and reduce back pain. I was keen to give it a try with the aim of improving my neck pain – when my posture is bad my neck pain is worse.
When I initially tried it on, I had no idea what to anticipate. I’ve previously used posture braces and found them to be incredibly painful and complicated to put on and take off, which did not inspire me to continue wearing them. This shirt, on the other hand, was really comfortable and felt nearly opulent in its quality, and I couldn’t wait to put it on every day.
In conclusion, I have definitely benefited from wearing this shirt since I am more conscious of my posture and how it affects me. Obviously, my posture isn’t ideal after three weeks, and it probably never will be owing to my unique circumstances and suffering. But I know that the more I wear the shirt and think about my posture, the more benefit I’ll get and, ideally, the less discomfort I’ll have in my neck.

What I liked about the Women’s Posture Shirt
You can wear it in everyday situations, such as when working at a desk, when walking, or when resting. I’ve not tried it during exercise, so I can’t comment on this. It automatically makes your posture better, but also improves your overall awareness of it and makes you think more about it which helps you when you’re not wearing it.
You can tell this shirt is quality made; the material is smooth, the little hooks are a super little idea which makes it easier to fasten the shirt, and it fits extremely well. I can’t fault the way it looks and feels.
It does exactly what it says on the website:
“The Posture Shirt 2.0 Zipper provides daily support, whether you’re sitting, standing or on the move…[it] features patented NeuroBand-technology which activates and stimulates shoulder and back muscles to help you improve your posture…We’ve added a zipper to our popular Posture Shirt 2.0, making it easy to put on and take off.”
The website, and guide that comes with the shirt, is very clear about what to expect from wearing it, and advises you that it needs to be tight-fitting to achieve results. Therefore, you must make sure you get the right size and ActivePosture provide a guide to help you do this. The instructions that come with the product are also simple and clear.
The whole customer journey with ActivePosture, from using the website to using the product, feels very professional and all-round excellent quality. The packaging was impressive too.
What I didn’t like about the Women’s Posture Shirt 2.0 Zipper
Using the words ‘didn’t like’ almost feels too strong, but I like to write honest reviews on my blog and always include this section. The only thing that I can write negatively about it is that the zip is the opposite way round. The bit you pull up is on the right hand-side, which took a little getting used to. Nothing major though as I had mastered it after a few days.
